Drowning (2016)
. This piece is inspired by the Pacific Trash Vortex, the island of trash floating in the Pacific Ocean. It is a neck piece that is made up of plastic water bottle caps that are connected together with a series of copper pins. The copper pins were made by heating up one end of a short piece of copper wire until it forms a ball. Then the pin in threaded through a hole in the bottle cap. To connect the bottle capes together, the straight end on one bottle cap is curved into a loop, and then the second caps pin is threaded through the existing loop, and then it is curved so that they interlock.
